London Fashion Week AW13: Velsvoir

On Saturday, the second day of London Fashion Week was brought to a close by the incredible Velsvoir AW13 collection, presented at The Westbury Hotel.

Velsvoir is an accessories brand created by three brothers, Zubair, Talha and Zak. Specialising in bow ties, neck ties and pochettes, Velsvoir caters to men and women in search of luxury style and an innovative way of dressing.

Their AW13 collection introduced three new products to the Velsvoir range. The snake tongue tie gave the regular skinny tie a make over with the end of the tie cut away in a sharp V shape. The regular bow tie got upgraded to the triptych tie creating a dandy-esque tone for the collection. My ultimate favourite however, is the new lapel braces that come in a variety of fabrics. Tweed and tapestry lapel braces made an appearance in the presentation, worn crossed over the body creating the illusion of a dinner jacket. Worn by both men and women, the braces offer a creative way to style up a plain shirt.

The presentation itself involved models placed on stands around the room whilst every ten minutes a catwalk show took place showcasing the latest designs. Guests were encouraged to get up close to the designs and interact with the models so that the fabrics, new designs and colours could be seen in their full glory. At the end of the night, Simon Smith gave a performance that left guests buzzing and in the mood for the after party.
